What is the Energy Performance Guarantee?

The Energy Performance Guarantee (EPG) is an annual heating and cooling guarantee that states that the energy you use to heat and cool your home will not exceed the guaranteed usage for the first 2 years that you are in your new home. The EPG is provided to you by Texas Home Energy Professionals, an independent third party inspection contractor.

How does it work?

The guarantee is calculated using DOE approved software that simulates the gas and electricity required to heat and cool your home over an average weather year using the exact specifications that your home was built with. If the actual energy used to heat and cool your home exceeds our estimated guaranteed usage, then Texas Home Energy Professionals will reimburse you 100% of the difference between our estimated and the actual cost of the heating/cooling energy used.

The State of Texas has adopted the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). Requiring all residential
